Jack is a good eater; however, there have been some foods that he really disliked. PEAS, is definitely one of them! He ate all of the yellow/orange vegetables like a CHAMP. He eats green beans, and loves all of the fruits. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting his reaction to peas. In this video, Jack is trying peas for the first time. I had already given him a bite, when I went grab the camera. I had never witnessed Jack showing such disdain for a food, and wanted to share this moment with Corey. Since then, we keep the camera nearby when trying a new food...you never know how he'll react to it. YES, in the video, I am referring to myself in the third person, giggling at my poor child (bad Mommy), and talking to the camera. (Staying home with Jack has brought talking to myself to a whole new level! Ha-Ha!) Since he had never disiked a food before, I was completely surprised by his reaction. This is the portion of the video where I realized I should probably try peas another day. (Also, this was before Jack had a high chair, so please excuse the dirty pillow on his infant seat. The night before, he wiped squash all over it, and I hadn't had a chance to wash it yet.)
Jack has moved from Gerber's Stage 1 foods, to the Stage 2 varieties. Corey went to the store to buy food for him, and came back with Chicken Noodle Soup and Macaroni & Cheese. These are two varieties that I probably would've passed on, simply because they don't seem as nutritious as the others. I also try to buy organic whenever possible. Every day, Corey would ask me why I wasn't giving him the Chicken Noodle Soup. Finally, one day while he was at work, (and the "cupboard" was running bare), I fed Jack the Chicken Noodle Soup...this was his reaction to it.
In this video, Corey was home alone with Jack Michael, and couldn't wait to feed him the Gerber Mac 'n' Cheese he bought. However, Jack wasn't quite as excited as Daddy! Notice how Jack keeps opening his mouth...like he's hoping the food will just fall out. ;-)
